Entries about mobile workforce

Doesn't it make perfect sense for companies to switch over from LAN to cloud based IT services, with so many of their workers connecting to their networks from remote locations? A mobility as a service platform helps with the management, support, direction and protection of long distance workers, the company network and network data from contamination and attack from outside sources by alerting the IT department to endpoint units out of compliance with the latest security protocol or unprotected by the company firewall. Mobility as a service also enables that same IT department to download the latest security patches to its endpoints long distance. Mobility as a service may be an ideal network management solution for company IT departments, but one can also think of it as technology that empowers employees to maintain a better work life balance by permitting them to work from home when their children are sick, or when they themselves are too sick to come to the office but can still put in a few hours of work from home. With mobility as a service, workers can also put all those hours spent in airports to good use. People aren't confined to their offices anymore, and mobility as a service addresses the issues associated with that reality.
