Filtering Harmful Pollutants With a Catch Basin Insert

A catch basin insert is an integral part of a stormwater drainage system. When it rains in cities and other areas with little exposed soil, such as parking lots, water cannot be absorbed into the ground. As a result, these areas must be fitted with drainage systems to move the water. As the water runs toward the drainage system, it inevitably picks up pollutants like trash, oils, and chemicals. These pollutants would remain in the water if we did not utilize a catch basin insert. A catch basin insert fits into storm drains and acts as a filter for pollutants. The water that leaves a catch basin insert is much clearer and free of harmful substances. A catch basin insert is easy to insert and remove from a storm drain. They must be replaced regularly, but fortunately catch basin inserts are very affordable so this does not pose a problem.
