Seo services target different kinds of search which includes image search, local area search, and vertical search engines which is industry specific. In mid 1990's Webmasters and content providers stared optimizing the sites for the search engines. Earlier what happened was that webmaster's job was to submit a page, or URL, to the various engines which would allow a spider to "crawl" that page, get the links to other pages from that page and get the information on the page which was to be indexed. This process involved a search engine spider downloading a page and storing that page search engine's own server, where an indexer program would extract various information like the words and their location on the page located. For crawling at later date the data was saved in a scheduler.
