The purpose of a consultative exam is to provide missing medical information regarding your social security disability case. A claims examiner will not be able to proceed with a judgment on your case unless you participate in the exam. A disability examiner will likely schedule another CE, if the claimant has a solid reason for not showing up to the first one. It is important to cooperate and not ignore scheduled appointments. Claimants who do not cooperate can have their claims dismissed.
